The 41-year-old former midfielder traveled to Rwanda in early September and took part in the prestigious Kwita Izina 2025 ceremony, where he joined international guests in naming baby mountain gorillas on September 5.
Flamini shared his reflections through a message posted on his official X account, explaining that he was invited by the Government of Rwanda in his role as an Arsenal ambassador. In 2008, while still an active player, he co-founded GFBiochemicals alongside Italian partner Pasquale Granata. The company focuses on developing eco-friendly alternatives to fossil-based chemicals, contributing to global efforts to reduce environmental damage.
Today, GFBiochemicals is valued at approximately £30 billion, with Flamini holding a 60 percent ownership stake. The company employs more than 1,000 people worldwide and is widely recognized for its role in advancing sustainable industrial solutions. Flamini’s business success has positioned him as one of football’s most notable post-retirement entrepreneurs.
